Yeah, it's a load of rubbish. We have his email and details plastered all over the auction and our receipts for his work. I think he's being done for theft and not burglary or something? not sure what will eventuate from that*UNIQUE* wrote:Woo hoo....and where is said evidence of Pawn Shop purchase....obviously, inexplicably missing.
Great news, cool story and a big fat finger to crims.

That's something. Be nice to go to such a measure that he doesn't do it again, mind.danrawkz wrote: I think he's being done for theft and not burglary or something?
Do we still need sackfuls of doorknobs and towballs?

It's a bit like vampires... if you invite them in it's not burglary. Theft and/or receiving stolen goods is all they can charge him with.danrawkz wrote:Yeah, it's a load of rubbish. Do I have the right to tarnish his name on the internet? Probably not i'm assuming. Seems like you get off lightly stealing during your day job in which you get offered into peoples homes. Imo that's even worse than breaking in

Yeah, breaking trust is worse than breaking a window.danrawkz wrote:Do I have the right to tarnish his name on the internet? Probably not i'm assuming. Seems like you get off lightly stealing during your day job in which you get offered into peoples homes. Imo that's even worse than breaking in
Windows can be replaced, etc.
Unless he's been granted name suppression or anything ridiculous like that, I don't see why you can't. Alternately, the name of the company, so we know who to look out for?

Unfortunate how the law can can sometimes work against the victims.

Haha, I'll be keeping an eye. We also think the guy stole my dads leather jacket too, but we can't prove this at the moment.
The painter was actually recommended by Resene, I'd assume my mother will be taking up certain matters with them. Shouldn't really be being recommended by a high profile company after this

This has made my day!
As for tarnish, I wonder if Ed could place feedback along the lines of, "never got the guitar because Police confiscated it as allegedly stolen property."
Hope he still gets hit with $2k of selling fees.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
