Re: Guess the amp vs digital
my iOS powered Ford would smoke your Android powered Holden. It has the direct Pepsi injection which is far superior to your Holden's Coke injection system. I Google'd it on my Apple.....betcha cant even do that on your lame PC with Bing. Pffft!
Little by little, by hook or by crook

Re: Guess the amp vs digital
Back on topic.
Klopp's comments above are bang on. I think that "tone" of (good) digital vs (good) tube amps got sufficiently close some time ago that you will rarely be able to pick the difference in a mix. But "feel" makes a big difference - ie: how the guitar interacts with the amp (digital or tube).
Having had my Kemper now for over a year, I can honestly say that it feels as tubey as my Mesa Mark IV, my previously owned Shiva, my Swart, my mate's Marshall etc. And actually live it sounds a shittonne better because it is a consistent sound, at all volumes, through the PA, without the narrow beam of guitar amp sound.
Of course, the Kemper still needs tube amps to exist to steal their souls

Re: Guess the amp vs digital
So much for "Guess the amp"
Really enjoyed my Kemper. I will probably get something from the digital realm when I can afford to have the best of both worlds. I love playing with pedals and cranking an amp up but I would also love to have a small midi controller with an Axe or KPA again and have a sweet home setup. Both sound awesome.

Loving it so far

Guess the amp vs digital
I want kemper to come up with something that is small, maybe pedal format (timeline size?) that just gives you top end modelling of a couple of amps, no fx, just compact and awesome amp modelling. Don't want 200 amps and effects and everthing, but want to know I have a great, stereo?, source for amp sound direct.
