well done for going with it - if I'd followed everyone's advice I'd still be using a shoebox with an elastic band stretched over it!!!
It would be a overland shoe box, or a sole at a pinch. And the elastic band would be 0.47 super slinky guage.
It would be amplified by a Heinz baked bean tin, or a Watties if I was feeling patriotic - obviously it would be a 420g can as I feel this is really the minimum for a full size gig. I wouldn't mind one of these though, they have the original hand rolled edges too

but I reckon 220g is not big enough for anything but smaller venues - obviously YMMV
I'm really gassing for one of these though, if anyone sees one on TM let me know!
