The only part I hated about that was where his minion handed him a spread of Rolex watches so that he might choose one for the next part of the show. I just thought the inclusion of that particular bit was kind of vulgar. But then, all things being relative, I just bought two flash amps and they'll likely never leave the office....

JM did a great lecture on success. It's on YouTube. He talks a lot of sense and has a good sense of humour.

Whenever I've come close to buying a U.S. PRS I've put myself off by playing an SE and asking myself whether the PRS is actually 6 or 7 times better as the price would suggest. In the case if the Fredrik Akesson SE I played a while back, I actually found it much nicer to play than the CE22 I compared it to.

I saw him when he came last to NZ - he was amazing - studio quality for all of his songs, his tone was drool worthy, his backup band was massive and amazing.

And Grace Potter and the nocturnals opened for him - and she's bangin'!

Look up Assassin, the groove at the beginning of that is pure... well, groove. Granted, thats more down to Pino Palladino and his mate... but still.

Yeah, no question about talent. I got into him after getting 'Any Given Thursday' on DVD and hearing him play Covered In Rain. The subtle stuff, when he does the mellow jam parts of his gigs - great stuff.

Most of his albums are worth the investment just for craft value alone - songwriter, playing... but then, like all people, when they're humble (like the lectures) (and sober/straight?!) they're awesome, but when they're all up themselves then we don't like it. Pretty much a rule for life.

Humility will get you everywhere.

Can understand Mayer going with Prs. As a traditionalist I avoided them for years however having bought my first recently off Molly I realized what I'd been missing and now have 3. There comes a point where the obsession with vintage tone is a major distraction from the notes being played and if and when you reach it, then it's time to move on..

Grace Potter's name was passed to me by my daughter who saw the recent Mayer tour. She is beyond bangin. She is a F'in Vocal Goddess.

That new one you've got that I played today (406?) is one I could get attached to. Felt great and had that feeling you could just crash out chords on it and be happy with that.

Thanks again for my daughter's wee six string. That was a very kind thought. She's delighted with it.

Now, just sell me your new PRS and a couple of Juniors and everybody will be happy.

all this PRS talk - I can't believe it's taken me at least 15 years to suck it up and buy one, and only to find out that it's possibly the best guitar I've owned - even beats my Custom Maton 2000DLX which so far has been the best guitar for me.

I've always admired the look of PRS guitars - pure Eye Candy with the flame and quilt tops - winning formula.

JM's guitars from PRS (he seems to have a few), he demo's them on Periscope nearly daily - each day a new guitar so far..
