Good idea. Nobody's allowed to bring more than they can carry with two hands. Could do it 'round your house :-)

So have you still got the Imperial and the Royalist? or did you flick one/both of them? I got confused by a comment you made in another thread.

Keeping the Royalist. Sold the Imperial. Bought a Ryan-built 5E3.

I've only half as much in the Royalist as I had in the Imperial. Had a chance to get my money back on it so took it. Didn't use it as much as the Royalist and figured the $4k tied-up in could be better spent.

It's OK. I'm just waiting for the house price crash and I'll move in next door. Should be along any day now :-)

Just been playing around swapping valves.
I don't play anything that uses tremelo, but I like a bit of reverb which this amp doesn't have.
I tried out a 12AY7EH in the tremelo position and as expected, the tremelo effect is almost non-existant.

Perfect!

It now has a nice low level ambience which is warm but not overpowering - different - but an alternative to reverb.

 First day at church for the Excelsior today!

Wow! it's got some volume.
I used my P90 Riviera plugged into the mic input & couldn't take the volume higher than the 9 o'clock position.

Nice!

I really like these. If they had spring reverb, I'd be all over one.
