you can get the same quality for half the price from most other manufacturers.

That red quilted finish is sexy though.

Are they more overpriced than PRS?
Hahaha.

Simon have you actually played one? What other manufacturers of same quality but half price are you referring to, out of interest?

Shit the bed, a Cort that costs half of what a Suhr does, now that's crazy.

yes - they actually are, haha.

even the most plainest looking model Suhr ie, generic strat style Suhr (I looked into gettin a suhr before I got my PRS) was asking like $4000 USD for a standard Burst Alder/maple/rosewood guitar.
PRS are stupidly priced - that being said, I didn't pay anywhere near what my guitar was "worth".

and RE: Angry ed's question (lol) - Yes I have played a Suhr before, it was nice, but not really what i thought was as nice or even worth it's price tag.
Maton, Chapman - (your favourite Ed), even some Mexican Fender builds have some fantastic build quality. Even the PRS SE and S2 lineup are FANTASTIC build and finishes and tone for a super well priced guitar.

Heck maybe i see the good in the cheaper (dollar) guitars. - the only Reason i paid too much(still) for my PRS is because it's the exact model PRS I've wanted since I was in School.

My dig isn't at your crazy nice red guitar with the arguably ugly headstock - which i actually don't mind  , but at the fact that off the shelf, the quality of build and price for a plain old Suhr tele/strat/superstrat is nearly laughable at the asking price.

Ed, as you can imagine, this guitar is not in my normal sphere of reference, but I have to admit that is fracking hot as. And I imagine it plays smoother than any metaphor I can conjure. Well done.

The plain Classic Pro and Modern Satin models are US$2000 each. The not-super-fancy flame top ones are usually US$2500-2900.

The one you looked into must've been a really fancy one.

Oh yeah, I also don't get the headstock negativity. And I'm as conservative as they get.

Maybe it comes back to that law of diminishing returns. I don't think PRS are overpriced at all but I understand why you wouldn't consider one twice as good as a guitar half the price. But, they are better and that's what you pay the premium for.

Never played a Suhr but would love to. I think this one makes more sense than buying their take on a vintage Fender.

Haha why would I be angry? I'm not the one who can't tell the difference in build quality between Korean made Chapmans/PRS SE, Mexican Fenders and PRS USA/Suhr ;)

What's with the headstock hate too, I kinda like it? As mentioned earlier, way better than a G&L! And way way better than Jackson & Dean.

It's not quite to my taste Ed but I definitely "get it". I bet it play's and sounds superb, congrats.

It's the old law of diminishing returns with guitars, just like every other hobby, knew plenty of people who would spend thousands on their push bikes to save 100 grams, when eating one less pie a week would suffice, I think I'm rambling now.
How can I be sure I'm here?

This guitar looks better than a thousand pies, hands down. I reckon it looks pretty flash.
