Hong Kong shops
Can anyone recommend some guitar shopping spots in Hong Kong? Especially cork sniffery guitars, pedals and amps. Double especially PRS and Duesenbergs. Cheers.

Re: Hong Kong shops
HK is more or less a duopoly between Parsons and Tom Lee. Tom Lee is the better one for Rock and Roll for sure......particularly PRS. Go to their main store in Tsim Sha Tsui.
I never found any funky, cool boutique stores there.

Re: Hong Kong shops
I'm up there in a months time. Mid June I'll also be in Kuala Lumpur for a week, but I already know all the shops in KL pretty well (frequent visitor there on business).
Being an impatient and impulsive type, chances are I will be coming back with something from one of those places unless I've bought something prior. I also have a spotter who keeps sending me links to good deals on new and secondhand Deusenbergs and I'm starting to get tempted by some of those.

There's a Starplayer in Catalina Blue which looks even nicer than the Narvik Blue of the Caribou... mmmm.

The NZ second hand market is well served by you fickle chaps who travel lots, buy awesome guitars and get bored with them before your next trip.

According to google "changing frequently, especially as regards one's loyalties or affections." Admittedly I didn't get my dictionary out before posting, but now I've looked up what it means, I think it was a good choice of word.Conway wrote:Fickle?!

Re: Hong Kong shops
HK, yes Tom Lee is main one, in TST as Matt said. Good for Effects or budget stuff, and actually lots of nice acoustics at the TST branch. But not really boutique or high end electrics. I got the sense there was lots of range in the mid to bottom, and good deals on some things... Just keep a smart phone with data coverage handy.
Larrivee 00 Acoustic. FAV Strat for electric. Ibanez SDGR5 for bass. Push for Ableton. When not doing that, 3D CAD for tunnels...

CONWAY!!!!!!!!!
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
