I got mine from 'hunting and fishing.' it was in the gun area. it's commonly used on gun stocks, so any larger gun shop should have it.

Mate, 90ml bottle does a guitar and neck with no worries: http://www.guncity.com/birchwood-tru-oi ... ish-109928
The tru-oil adds a little yellowing, will darken up existing stain a little

Re: tung/tru oil in smaller quantities?
Here in Christchurch I got a small bottle of Tru-Oil on two occaisions from gun shops in town as Danny says it's for finishing gun stocks.
I think I got it once from Hunting and Fishing next door to Music Works on Columbo and once from the store on the side of Tower Juction by the main road that goes over the railway and becomes Barrington.
Can't remember if Gun City on Cranborne had it or specifically didn't, sticks in my mind for some reason.
It wasn't cheap but the size was sensible, I think about $70 for something like 70cl which did a guitar and 2 necks and had some left over.

I've seen Tung oil in hardware shops, even in a small town.

Danish oil is cheaper and available in Mitre10
This may be useful too.

I found gun city to be expensive as well. I get from here if you can wait a few days -

Not sure how that compares to Hunting and fishing

Re: tung/tru oil in smaller quantities?
this is where I bought mine.
when I walked in it was like one of those scenes off a movie where the music stops and everyone looks up from their drinks when the stranger walks into a bar...

actually, the name reloaders reminded me that the local amp guy here is a mad WWII recreationalist-has a bunch of old guns and gear (including a decked out jeep) might see if he has a tiny amount i can borrow.

No worries, just pm me when you want some. Or you can grab it whenever if you come over the east side of town.
