Lace Aluma Deathbukers and X Bars
Has anyone tried these pups? Im pretty keen on dropping them into an 8 String. Just wondering if anyone here has tried them. I understand that they are either a 'love'em or hate'em' type of pickup. Sound pretty good to me but I'm a little hesitant atm.

Re: Lace Aluma Deathbukers and X Bars
The Deathbucker is hands down my favourite pickup, I have 3 of these. Slight dip in the lower mids (to stay out of the mud zone with downtuned guitars) and a little peak in the higher mids. Smooth trebs, tight lows. Medium output so cleans up fine.
Just note that these need 250k pots (as stated in the manual). I tried 500k but it gets a bit too bright.

Re: Lace Aluma Deathbukers and X Bars
With 500K I got a lot more extended high treble which isn't really needed for the amps I use. If you have a really dark amp it might be useful to a certain degree, but for most cases I'd definitely go for 250K.
