Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Could do with one for your old H&K Puretone. Trying to figure out why it doesnt break up at any gain level. Most perplexing.

Nah, its not right. It was touted as a Trainwreck style clean to mean all from the guitar vol pot type machine and that's what they do in all the youtube vids. This bugger is just plain clean to loud clean. Quite a feat in itself but usable not muchly.

Re: Anybody need a schematic?
Yeah, but it's an amp you'd buy for the drive potential not as a super clean machine. I've given it to Danny to sort but schematics are conspicuously absent from the usual providers. I'm also curious to see how it performs when functioning correctly as a couple of the youtube vids sound very promising. Super sparkly fender clean into sustainy gain territory. Wicked with a Strat. We'll get there

What are the tone controls like ? they looked pretty interesting in the schematic, mixing two differently EQ'd stages into one.

Get some players to trial it, tweak it, cosmetics, flog it.Slowy wrote:Really? Well that's a surprise!Anvil Amps Alan wrote:

Then I will scratch build another one in a rack cabinet.
The treble circuit was lame so I modified the (unity gain) buffer in that section to give it sufficient boost.

Re: Anybody need a schematic?
The cathode follower buffer will be out of phase to the bass circuit which seems a bit counter intuitive to me. Did you just change it to a common cathode stage instead ?

Just configured it the same as the bass buffering stage.sizzlingbadger wrote:The cathode follower buffer will be out of phase to the bass circuit which seems a bit counter intuitive to me. Did you just change it to a common cathode stage instead ?
Does not sound like it is outa phase, although now you mention it I will use the other channel of my scope to check it out.
I have a mate coming over on Sunday bringing a very large speaker set and his guitars to do some tests.
Luckily my workshop is zoned industrial!

Re: Anybody need a schematic?
My copy turned up last night, very cool book but it does have a few mistakes in it. The coverage on some non USA amp manufacturers is a bit weak in places but overall a good reference with some amazing guitars included in the photos.
