what sort of stripper do you use and how many passes ?
i'm stripping a bass at the moment and I got some water based stripper (environment and all that...)
but I applied some last night....scraped it off this morning and hasn't made a blind bit of difference
if anything it's shinier!!
might as well have used natural yoghurt

If you're dealing with poly even the toxic stuff will have little if any effect.

I think you're right.... just tried some of the auto stuff and no different...have to get the belt sander out

I think you're right.... just tried some of the auto stuff and no different...have to get the belt sander out

i used a heat gun on my ones. that worked well

Heat gun for poly is good. Anything sanding oriented should be avoid unless you're not concerned about changing rounded profiles etc.

This guitar has had many lives! It would be kinda cool to leave the neck pocket alone to tell the story but the Tone God would retch at the very thought.

I dont think so re the Strat - it's pretty clean. I reckon the owner way back just went, "feck it, natural is the new and funky thing...do it Zettwitz!"
