Re: Christchurch Gearfest June 10th 2017
Some great photos guys. Nice to see some new faces and new noises! Lucky for me I arrived late and escaped the gear spotlight talk, I'm not good at that kinda stuff haha. Quite happy to sit back and watch/hear everyone play.
Holy shit did that tiny Orange micro amp sound great or what ?! Thanks to Dave & Jeremy for organising

Excellent afternoon lads, great turn out, excellent people and some very nice gear. My personal high lights were Molly's R6, Marks Tele custom (trade you the black strat? ) and I am now a ferverent supporter of the KOC and may well ingratiate myself to the KOC in the near future.
1935 Martin D-45, 1942 Gibson Southern Jumbo,1950 Fender Broadcaster, 1954 Fender Strat, 1958 Gibson Moderne prototype, 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard.

Mttn3 and I are cousins.
Liked the Jap Tele , hadn't seen a Kramer like that in years, the little Orange had a big sound, the big Orange rig has Indie cred for days, buying a 4x12 on the way must surely be a NZG Fest record, Johns SG Ash still smokes, the Kay has the same scale length as a Fender Strat , few Ibbys the mahogany one has a lovely top.
I'd say Dave will grab a few sales from this
For all the new stuff Les Paul plus Marshall is Rawk guitar for me
Cheers for the organization , venue etc. A fun afternoon
Next time will sort out a few charts and get the room playing...for me I like to hear guitar in context

Hey what exactly were those little clip-on tuners that were being compared? I could do with something like that, one that's small and goes easy on the batteries.

Soo... how did the Katanas go against the valve amps I see? Hold their own? Curious if any other glass lovers are now on the KOC waiting list?
No one ever died of hard work.. but why take the risk..
