Re: David Gilmour Guitar Auction
I'm glad the money is going to charity. It makes me a little sad when I see iconic instruments go into collections and not played by musicians. At least the money is going to a good cause.
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

That's a lovely article, thanks for sharing. Wow, I'm humbled by his attitude. I've been contemplating downsizing for a while, this may be just the push I need. I've been actively downsizing for several years, but it's a long hard road full of pain and regret.olegmcnoleg wrote: I've been contemplating downsizing for a while

But I admire you for it...well apart from the blue and the no guitars beginning with 'g' rules.

I think you could survive with the no guitars beginning with G, Mr Oleg, could you not?!

A fine attitude indeed Oleg; but you have no need to purge just yet.olegmcnoleg wrote:That's a lovely article, thanks for sharing. Wow, I'm humbled by his attitude. You are still young.
And your guitars give you joy; not to mention your friends.
That is all that's required.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Survive, yes. But I think I'll pick a different letter, since 'G' is your thing. 'X' maybe?Conway wrote:Guidelines like that help to maintain the focus.olegmcnoleg wrote:Hmmm, that does not sound so appealingConway wrote: I've been actively downsizing for several years, but it's a long hard road full of pain and regret.

Not really; as he said, they are the tools of his trade. It's the punters who get all dewy eyed about the gear.slash-ed wrote:It's pretty interesting how unsentimental he is about those guitars.
