Pedalboards, hardwood or tolexed?
Building a prototype for my Helix LT to fit on. Have some recycled rimu so this is a prototype. I'll probably tolex this and build a case. What say you?
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Make exquisite ones for posers, stick the bastard on the floor
Nah tolex usually my go to for boards. Current one is. Had pedaltrains before that and it sucks when they chip.

Re: Pedalboards, hardwood or tolexed?
Seems a shame/waste to bother using rimu and then covering it? Unless it's more about strength?
I think hardwood boards look nice if they're nicely finished with a clear gloss.
Also, I quite like it when they dovetail two different colours of wood. Looks cool.

Nothing to see here.

It's a prototype, if I go with it I'm thinking rosewood and white oak. Or similar. Or plywood and tolex etc. I'll see how the joints turn out on this, think my bits need sharpening.

Phuck that is a messy workshop
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Too much junk, too little space. There are two lambrettas in there somewhere. It's my winter workshop, so will get tidied up, some time.... Before winter. Probably.

If you've got something as nice as Rimu, don't cover it up! Personally I'd be loath to have a 'NICE' pedalboard, in tolex or timber, becuase I'd wreck it. A flightcase type thing for me please.

Had I not recently just made up my own board + flight case combo, I'd have hounded you in the hopes this was a serious offer! Haha!Bg wrote: I reckon I could make you one and you'd be my first endorsed artiste!
