Slowy very kindly let me have the Timmy to try out. The four knobs give it lots of tweaking scope and I settled on two settings that I like mucho - one with gain at 12 o'clock and one at 3 o'clock.
So I thought what if I "deep edit" the Magic Stomp overdrive profile that sounds more or less like a Timmy. Connected to a laptop you can change the EQ settings of any Magic Stump profile and my aim was to adjust these to get as close as possible to the Timmy sound.
Here four samples of the Timmy versus Magic Stomp. Anyone can tell which is which?

Don't know which is which but I prefer both of the sample B tones... which for me is unusual because I normally like "bright" tones and A was a lot brighter. B had a creaminess that really appealed

Hard to tell through a computer but looking at the Treble settings on the Timmy, I'd pick it's track B.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Magic stump? Wasn't that BG's stage name when he was touring with the chippendales?

Re: Timmy vs Magic Stomp - Sound tests
Stumps and knobs aside, I have updated the sample titles with the device name.
Track 12 - sample a = The stomp
Track 13 - sample b = The Timmy
Track 14 - sample a = The Timmy
Track 16 - sample b = The stomp
The Timmy wins, also IMO, but I can live with the Magic Stomp's patch version I created
