WTF?? Seriously, why does it have to be so complicated
How do you know which speaker to get and which is better?

Your amp will be the deciding factor, power output and it's impedance options for the output.

8 is default for individual speakers. I have a few 1x12 cabs loaded with 16ohm because I like to pair up different combinations. Two 16 ohm cabs combined will show your amp an 8 ohm load.johnny mullet wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 10:57 pm WTF?? Seriously, why does it have to be so complicated

Both my main amps have impedance selectors so it's easy to dial in. If you're lucky enough to have a genuine vintage Fender amp, just plug in whatever you want. They'll take a 100% mis-match and not notice at all. Leo saw no reason to make it complicated.
I used to have a THD Flexi 50 which offered impedance mis-matching as a tone shaper. There was a difference but I can't remember enough to describe it now.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
