Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Yes, it has the power not to confuse the sh1t out of guitar players
But seriously though. The core synth engine is similar, but SY-300 is more of a fully-fledge synthesizer, you can go in and mess with oscillators and filters and LFOs and all sorts. Really powerful with a lot of potential but I reckon it's over the head of many if not most guitarists.
SY-1 was a smash hit because it is SO simple to operate, and so easy to get your head around a few basic controls and clearly marked "families" of sound. Turn the dial to "ORGAN" and get an organ sound, rather than mess with 42 different parameters to get to a similar place, that kind of thing.
SY-200 really just takes that same level of straightforward operation and adds presets, MIDI functionality, and just a touch more control over the sound with the new Resonance control. During the development of the pedal we fought really hard to make sure that it retained all of the things that people found fun about SY-1, rather than turn it into a more powerful beast that requires deep diving like SY-300 at the risk of taking away the enjoyment and exploration factor.

Thanks for the explanation. I have the SY-300 and yes, it’s a lot to get your head around but well worth the learning curve!slash-ed wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 2:56 pmYes, it has the power not to confuse the sh1t out of guitar players

Sorry, missed this one Conway. We're expecting a small first shipment in October, I'll need to check whether any are heading to NZ but I'd expect so!

Re: New BOSS Products coming....
It seems some European dealers are starting to get stock of the SY-200 ahead of anywhere else. I've got one coming from The Netherlands....
