Hotel California Jam
Jam time! Backing track from the solo section of HC.
If you're keen... dibs the next position, download the track overdub your part, say 8-16 bars... then re-upload and post the link for the next nzg peep to have a turn. All welcome, no stress just fun. Post a pic of your rig too if you want.

Re: Hotel California Jam
Download the track here: Hotel California NZG Jam
*Edit: Have uploaded uncompressed version .wav file here
I'll kick off. Track above, recorded using Audacity. Touch of audacity room verb.
Had a nightmare with the EQ, and can't undo it now... hahaha.
Gear below. Basically Guitar into TS808 into the Tube overdrive, some pedalboard delay.
Have at it lads! Who's next?

I have long wanted to learn this solo. But unfortunately I don't have 9 months of free time.

Maybe learn 1-2 licks, milk them into an 8-bar noodle.... then you could jump in on the jam!

Re: Hotel California Jam
I'd love to do this but it means I would need to have software, time to learn the software, purchase an interface, etc etc
But yeah, I'd love to do it. And not stick to the original.

Re: Hotel California Jam
I reckon I still remember most of the original, might have a blast at the weekend but the way my fingers are, its doubtful. Playing it with two fingers probably isn't achievable.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Re: Hotel California Jam
If you're keen, just record it on your phone and send it through. I can pull the audio and add it to the track for you.
The less serious the recording, the more fun... and hopefully the more contributors
*Edit...The same goes for anybody else who wants a go, but doesnt have a recording setup

Me too, but Cubital Tunnel Syndrome says no...
Bending elbow causes pain, if its lessened by the weekend, yes. But its likely going to be weeks.

Re: Hotel California Jam
I have a complaint: I was really getting into that and it stopped. Great tone and phrasing. I want to hear more!
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

This. I learned Don Felder's Hell Freezes Over acoustic version 20 years ago then stopped playing it.
It's long gone now.

I don't know if I've got any down-time this long weekend (shitloads to do before carpet fitters arrive Monday) but will try to noodle something.Cdog wrote: βThu Nov 11, 2021 12:51 pm Jam time! Backing track from the solo section of HC.

Have to say, in my head it's hard to hear anything other than the original solos.
