Maybe because a Strat bridge through a ZenDrive is tasty?

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Right, on topic... its for a disco band. SSS. Clean.
And if they don't play "Shake your Groove Thang" they ain't disco or they need a new bass player - me.

SSS all day long, ideally with the bridge pickup tilted the opposite way á la Jimi

but in this regard, do a google of earth, wind and fire - Al McKay, no strats hurt in that one, the occasional superstrat.... but mostly 335 or Tele
So for strat, you really need to go to Nile Rogers, king of funk and disco.

Prefer the look of the butterscotch Tele in the background

Nile Rodgers - excellent player. Anything produced by the Chic Corporation has that dry funky strat playing minimal jazzy triads. Not to mention gymnastic, virtuosic bass playing by Bernard Edwards, and tasteful strings providing the accents. All space and dynamics. Hell of a producer.
In life, don't sweat the petty stuff, and don't pet the sweaty stuff.

SSS. I don't know why people are dismissive of the bridge pickup. Easy enough to bridge the second tone pot on the switch if need be but I don't do that anymore. Can't be arsed. It's been perfect since the first one.

You could do it but I never roll-off the tone so didn't see the point.

I've done the mod on one, it was really bright. PUP to blame.
Everyone in the world knows, guitars live in mids, high mids and high. Only way of cutting through the mix.
Apart from tele bridge pups, they are just evil, though since I lost my high range hearing, they're quite nice really...

They can be for sure, but that first Nocaster I had wasn't in the least shrill.Bg wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 5:24 pmI've done the mod on one, it was really bright. PUP to blame.

If ever there was a guitar I should've kept.

It tends to be the player. I'm sure I'm one now because I have no upper mids in my hearing So they get turned right up...Molly wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 6:19 pmThey can be for sure, but that first Nocaster I had wasn't in the least shrill.Bg wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 5:24 pmI've done the mod on one, it was really bright.
