Re: The Acoustic Thread
I find Tim Henson to be one of those players I listen to and think "wow, that is incredible, that's some amazing technique going on", then I listen to another track and think "ah yep, same stuff again", then explore a bit further and think "ok, it's all the same, does he do anything else?".
I've seen him playing on stage with a bunch of more traditional players and he was out of his depth in that environment, so he definitely has his limits (not necessarily a bad thing, of course).
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

Re: The Acoustic Thread
His voice on guitar is quite unique but yes thats really all he does, which isn't bad as such as its a pretty cool thing, but he's not as versatile as many other playersDanger Mouse wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 1:08 pmI find Tim Henson to be one of those players I listen to and think "wow, that is incredible, that's some amazing technique going on", then I listen to another track and think "ah yep, same stuff again", then explore a bit further and think "ok, it's all the same, does he do anything else?".

Re: The Acoustic Thread
That is incredible technique and skill. I would love to be able to do that. And yet I have no interest in listening to it and it does nothing stir anything in me.Danger Mouse wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 1:08 pm I find Tim Henson to be one of those players I listen to and think "wow, that is incredible, that's some amazing technique going on", then I listen to another track and think "ah yep, same stuff again", then explore a bit further and think "ok, it's all the same, does he do anything else?".

When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.
