My order of connectors and cables arrived today (overnight shipping apparently means nine days). A day of stripping cable and soldering allowed me to plug everything in tonight. Surprisingly, everything worked perfectly first time. Pleased with how tidy I made it. A couple cables are an inch or two short, but largely got it right.

Current order is Fuzz Bender in 1, Dual Fusion in 2, Dunes in 3, Saint Mantis in 4 and Flint in 5. Volante is running after the ES5, preserving stereo out capabilities.

Will play around a little, but hoping to have the DF set up for single coils, the Dunes and SM for humbuckers and fuzz for both. Need to wait until a more sociable hour tomorrow, when I can wind the amp up and hear things properly at decent volumes.

Will post updated pic tomorrow, when I'm hoping to have a stereo Tweed/Blackface set-up. That'll be hot.

Reg: the ES5 is buffered output, I think. Reckon the Fuzz Bender would be better running straight from the guitar?

1979 EHX Deluxe Electric Mistress arrived yesterday, it’s in great condition for its age. I bought it for my Dad so I’ll be taking it over to the UK with me when I head over in April. Looking forward to trying it out over the weekend

Picking up a Strymon Orbit Flanger this morning which will lie in wait until the EM comes off the board

My pedalboard consists of controllers instead of pedals. On the FC6 bottom row I have clean, a mid gain crunch and heavy rhythm sounds. Holding each button down gives me either phaser/chorus depending on the patch, and solo boosts.

These buttons also control 2 amps in my Axe Fx, switching sounds for my guitar and our singers guitar. Saves us bringing 2 rigs to a gig, and him from having to stomp on anything while singing.

Top 3 buttons are usually flanger, delay and tap tempo/tuner. EV1 is wah or Whammy. The Boss FS7 are tied to a pitch block which drops our guitars by a semitone for certain songs. And the second switch is just a drive pedal, usually a Klon or a tubescreamer. Easy peasy.

Spent most of this morning fiddling around with my board, was good to spend some time with both of the Flanger’s I’ve recently acquired. The Strymon is great, can’t see that leaving the stable anytime soon but the old EHX Electric Mistress is on a different level and really is something else. It’s liquidy smooth and while I like both of them the EHX absolutely has something about it that the Strymon lacks

Strymon Sunset is very cool. Two sides, each with two types of overdrive and a boost. Can run A into B, B into A, or A and B in parallel (i.e. blending both sides). But the best bet is that it's MIDI capable. So using the Boss ES-5, you can send a MIDI signal to tell the Sunset to recall a preset for that particular ES-5 program. No need to adjust gain and level every time you go to a different program.
