I've used similar heads with larger cabs and they sound immense. A friend of mine keeps a Trace Elliot Elf (it's tiny) in his case just in case he has amp issues. Recommended :-)

Just get something bigger than you'll ever need and then turn the volume down, its not like a guitar amp where said guitarist is wanking on about 'power stage overdrive and speaker breakup' - I think my practice bass amp is 500 watt iirc.

Nothing less than 300 watts, otherwise it’s ungigable… imho

you need to feel the bass, or I do anyway. My monitors thump it loud enough for the missus to retire to the bedroom with the door shut ;) Bet she can still feel it.

I have a Fender Super Bassman head (300 tube watts) and a Fender Neo 610 & Neo 810.
Hooked both cabs to the head and gave it some welly.

Scary..... very scary....

That neo cab you lent me was awesome, its so easy to get great bass tone - unless you want something specific.

Yep, that was a great cab alright. I really really recommend the Fender Rumble 500 combos. Light and awesome sounding. :-)

It's a physical experience, ay?

My best: Mesa M9 carbine into a cab that contained 1x15" and 4x10" speakers. Don't think the 600W of MOSFET would touch yer 300W of burnin' glass, though. Them tube watts be made different.

Here is said beast with 810.
It is a righteous rig alright and there is nothing quite like a big tube head pushing big cabs.

Rob, I have a Mesa M6 Carbine too which sounds very punchy with the 810. The M9s & M6 Carbines are so very good.

I didn’t think we’d have one of those in NZ. Coolest looking bass of all time. Needs more frets though, but then you do keep hooligans like myself from sullying it.

Absolutely righteous rig, I am very jealous!

No frets needed I reckon. I agree, very cool looking bass and it plays so well. It's longer than 34" scale though. The Hof in the Pic is a very early 64 also 🙂
