Weird when one of your favourite guitarist does a brand swap out of nowhere….Brian Baker (Bad Religion) just saw on the Orange Amps website that he has come across to their stable and will be playing a Rockerverb…,,only saw him standing in front of a full JCM800 backline at the Powerstation a fortnight ago……
That’s after the awesome Rig Rundown fairly recently where it was all Marshall …..love Oranges but still surprised with the move

Yeah you see this all the time in sports - bikes, watches, shoes etc. Money talks!

But backline is backline, he won't have brought his own amps. Probably.

Be surprised if contracts didn't stipulate visible gear during live shows must be of the brand.

My point badly made was that if he's just changed to Orange, they'd have specified Marshall for backline months ago.

Re: Profile players changing brands
Not so long ago:
With amplifiers, though, Baker is monogamous. His ’89 horizontal-input Marshall JCM 800, which he bought new while in Junkyard, is still his go-to amp. Even after Chris DeMakes of Less Than Jake convinced him to get a pair of Kemper profiling amps to take on tour, he stuck by the sound of his JCM. “It’s just the perfect amp – it’s that good Marshall,” he says. “And that one profile is still the one thing that’s in each Kemper I have, and the only thing. I use just that profile of my own head.”
