Re: NPD: King Of Tone!
Can you tweak the clone's pots to match the real thing?

Maybe. I'll definitely give my one a bit of tweak to taste though. Then I'll see if I can get yours to match my taste

Shouldn’t this be in the “What’s on your workbench” thread?
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Re: NPD: King Of Tone!
Took advantage of the glorious sunny day to spend a bit of time in the garage. Tweaked the trim pots on mine. They were both bottomed out! Tweaked them to about half way. Checked Mike's and they were already about half way. Now they're really close! Mine is still a little bit punchier, I think. Not sure. That's just nitpicking. The general consensus stands, I don't think anyone would notice in the mix. I also think Mike's has a bit more gain. It drives sooner with harder picking. Again, when playing a tune, who the heck would notice... maybe Eric Johnson...
This is the setting that got them really close:
Then played it with humbuckers. Granted, these are A3 humbuckers, which I always found to be a tad on the brighter side. Sure enough, they were. I have since tweaked the pot on my red side to give better range.
On a more important note for me, I couldn't get this pedal to go with the AC4. That amp sounds great as a grab'n'go. The only thing missing is reverb, and maybe trem as well. Couldn't get it to work with the KoT for me.

That's pretty much how I set mine as well (KOT settings). A tad more volume for stage work.codedog wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 12:04 pm Took advantage of the glorious sunny day to spend a bit of time in the garage. Tweaked the trim pots on mine. This is the setting that got them really close:

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Yeah. Not a happy match. I think the KOT likes 6L6s
By far the best OD for my Vox is the Hotcake.

I'm happy to keep my AC4 as the simplest rig I have. It's so nice on its own with both Eastman.

Re: NPD: King Of Tone!
Same here. My AC4 can be made to work with all my guitars but there's a special thing going on between Vox and Eastman.

Probably because they're both made in china

You may have something there...
