Maxine was Sharon O'Neill's most played song and definitely has an early eighties sound to it. I think I still have a vinyl copy of her first album somewhere which didn't have that on it.
I've never had to play that one but still I don't understand all the hate with these songs. If it fits with the band you're with and the audiences you play for and the audience response is good then surely it's all good.
Otherwise you should probably be elsewhere or doing something else
