LOL not at all - we had this smegging huge cabinet TV with what was probably a 10" screen. It was in Engerland, of course, Kiwiland didn't get TV for another 10+ years... My Dad was a television/radio serviceman in London at the time. While standing in the street outside the local electrical shop looking through the window with about a dozen other people?

I have a spare Matamp-built headsleeve - black - fits OR120 type amps, not sure if it'd fit an AD200 though.Timi wrote:I dont think I posted my amp the first time round, but here is my recent addition.

In that case, it would be a GREEN amp, or more specifically, a GREEN-Matampjohnny mullet wrote:Yeah but a green orange amp would just be wrongTimi wrote:I dont think I posted my amp the first time round, but here is my recent addition.

I did think of this when I first got the amp, but saw that the Matamp sizes were different.CustomAudioBoutique wrote:I have a spare Matamp-built headsleeve - black - fits OR120 type amps, not sure if it'd fit an AD200 though.
Its a fairly simple box, be easy to make up another one and cover it black, just can't really be bothered.....

The box I've got is for old-school Orange sized chassis - it will fit an AD30, as chassis bolt holes have not been drilled in it ... not sure if it'll fit the AD200 chassis though.Timi wrote:I did think of this when I first got the amp, but saw that the Matamp sizes were different.CustomAudioBoutique wrote:I have a spare Matamp-built headsleeve - black - fits OR120 type amps, not sure if it'd fit an AD200 though.

A few weeks back I scored this knackered old Marshall Super Bass. Made in 1974. The earliest model I have yet to own. It's been up at Clarry's place since I got it. He's gently fired it up on the variac until he was confident nothing would blow. We looked over it and saw that there had been quite extensive internal mods done to make it a two channel guitar amp but nothing that was irreversible. We decided the best plan was to restore it back to stocka and see what I thought.
Got it home today and fired it up for the first time.
What did I thought? HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!! THIS THING IS AN ABSOLUTE BEAST!!!!
I can't begin to describe how good it is. Even compared to the Mule, my faithful '77 model 1959 head. Everything the the Mule does best, this can do better. It's just so good. The Super Bass and the Mule are pretty much the same inside, so it's amazing how different this head is. Still needs a little work done and a decent set of tubes flung at it.
Marshall have agreed to supply a new enclosure for it from the HW series. That arrives in January. Right now I quite like the quaint cut-down bookshelf look.
Dare I unleash this at the NZG party next week?
