Ibanez Premium Series

Post by slash-ed »

Any fans of the new(ish) Premium Series guitars that Ibanez is making in Indonesia? New finishes for 2012 include Desert Yellow and Shocking Pink...

I had the chance to play one for the first time, and had rather mixed feelings. I did a little opinion post about them on my blog, check it out if you're interested!

Just read and commented before I saw this here. I was pretty tempted by something like this when they had their Ibby sale and I thought I was going to have some money for a change, before everything went tits up. Was more keen on the Prestige RG1550M in the Poison Pumpkin finish, which was a really attractive prospect at the sale price, but they seem to have gone. Where's that *sigh* smilie when you need it?

Good review, I've played the toxic yellow version and was left pretty underwhelmed by the experience. Not that it's a bad guitar, it's just a bit cheap feeling ( so pretty much what you wrote :-))

I'll just add a plug here that alot of the Ibanez prices have come down quite a bit lately, so if you're in the market for one definitely check out new before you buy used. You might be surprised.

Any particular examples of good value? I can't see a Prestige being any less than $2k, and to be honest, new iterations of much the same thing stopped interesting me years ago. How many times can you put a different finish on a HSH superstrat?

In the sale I'm sure the prestige was around $1500

Erm, we were talking about Prestiges in that particular instance, not Premiums.

#fail

Sidenote: Please read blog post re: Premium Series if you haven't already. It may dispel some of the confusion.

Sorry, I was confused by the fact that the thread was titled Ibanez Preium Series and there was a great big picture of a Premium series guitar and a link to a review on Ibanez premium series guitars. But yes I see now that you've changed your mind to something else.

If I replied to your threads based on the title and first post only, without bothering to read the rest, I would still be congratulating you on the purchase of your new Jazzmaster. Just saying.

Because you always read the thread very carefully before posting anything eh.

If I was posting in support of the retail entity for which I was employed, yes, I probably would.

Luckily I have no such obligation and am free to post bullshit wherever I please.

Nice edit btw. Ironic for you of all people to be saying "I see now that you've changed your mind to something else."
