because all the tuners ive used are so damn inaccurate

so folks, can anyone recommend an accurate tuner?
up to $200ish
new or 2nd hand
portable (no software)
extra points if it can be used easily on stage

Are you sure that the tuners were the problem? For $30 you can get a tuner with accuracy of +- 0.01%. You'd have to have pretty good ears to top that, (though I'm sure you do...)borge wrote:so after doing the intonation on a few guitars with a few different tuners i still find myself doing the fine tuning by ear
because all the tuners ive used are so damn inaccuratei get reasonable results but i know it could be better.

my current gigging gat is floyd equipped (dive only) and is VERY stable, i tune it before the first set and its still good 3 sets later, but good points nonetheless.bobiron wrote: Given that your machine heads don't slip, the nut and saddles don't hold up the string, let alone a trem system not returning to it's original place and you string is tuned and intonation set as good as is possible, the other variable(s) is your fellow band members not being in tune with you because of something different with the above. So yeah the tuner matters but.........
