Re: Future Tronfests - venue suggestions
I know no one seemed keen to have it in between the tron and aucks ......BUT...... I can get a hall (with a stage) with a kitchen and a dining area (so big enough have gear in there to) where I live for $70 for 5hrs
I live here http://www.wises.co.nz/l/pukekawa/#c/-3 ... 011191/12/ .... so about 45/50 mins from aucks and about an hr from de capo

Re: Future Tronfests - venue suggestions
how far is it from your place? that's like driving to a different country almost haha.
may be worth the drive - as it's middle of auckland/hamilton sort of.
My question would be - how is it for power supply. from experience as a Sparky - most old town halls have like 3-4 power points that are useable and are often all on 1 circuit - may pop fuses etc. The kitchen and oven and hot water are usually on separate ones.

I wonder if any of these could be an option? (scroll down for rates)...would we classify as a 'Community Group'?

I might have another (cheaper) option. Will know on Friday. I also spoke to the venue hire guy and got the price down to $86.25 per room per day if we were to use the A block classrooms.

hmmm, I'll need to check my passport, but it could be a go-er. Have played in these places in bands, don't see it being an issue.willow13 wrote:SimpleSi wrote:how far is it from your place? that's like driving to a different country almost haha.

Re: Future Tronfests - venue suggestions
yeah its weird eh, we did a great one in a tennis club in welly. Even lost a member, he just dissapeared, he could still be there. We weren't invited back, oh dear, plenty more halls in the sea.jeremyb wrote:Surely one of you church going guys can wrangle a church hall for an afternoon or something?!??!!

Re: Future Tronfests - venue suggestions
My church is an events centre with just a stage, no power along the walls. Lol.
Otherwise it would have been great

Long way to go to catch up to Wellington. Welly fests are so good we can only have them about once a year.Bg wrote:perhaps we need an aucksfest to regain the lead
