Supro/Airline Res-O-Glass Belmont Build
BGs Supro buy reignited an idea I had years ago of building a fibreglass guitar like the old Supro/National/Airlines of the '60s. So I have ordered one of these bodies
Hasn't left the states yet but should do soon. I have been collecting parts and started with a blank neck from China for $50 rosewood on maple. No fretboard markers but I had some in the parts bin.
Briwax satin black stain and a Tru-Oil finish
Mock up with the GFS green tombstone/tulip tuners and Airline logo
Have a Gibson style harness and a pair of GFS Goldfoils in a soapbar P90 housing
So now all I need is the body ... To Be Continued

Awesome, keen to follow this, have often wondered how good those bodies are!

There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Had any previous experience with the GFS Gold Foils? Tempted to try one or two in my Vista Jagmaster.

None at all, had a friend in the USA reckon they were pretty good but that is about it. I wanted single coil with a bit of meat. I would ideally have liked old De Armond goldfoils but they go for crazy money.
I'll let you know how they turn out. For US$35.95 cheap enough to experiment with.

They only make a limited number of bodies a year but Dan is super helpful if you emailed them I am sure they would work something out.
Well the kit arrived this morning colour is much better than I expected, nicely put together. Have a fair idea what I'll be up to this weekend

Re: Supro/Airline Res-O-Glass Belmont Build
There are 2 body styles WSL and WST which mean the neck pocket fits a Strat style or Tele style neck heel. My neck had a rounded strat style so I ordered that. The neck pocket sides are not at 90 degree angles so first step is beveling the sides of the neck heel to fit the pocket.
Sanding and filing gets this
Staining and Tru Oil to finish
Tody will be fitting the centre block. The kit comes with detailed 14pages of instructions.
