Saw them at The Vic in Devonport last night. Led Zeppelin tribute band. I figured this was a brave enough project to go check it out.
The sound, managed by Paul Crowther, was excellent. Vocals were convincing but lacking Plant's highest register. Guitar duties handled in a creditable and satisfying fashion. The drummer however was sensational; the appropriate word is explosive. A joy to behold. Paul Crowther, that most proficient and tasteful of drummers reckoned Frankie could have left half his kit at home so I teased him that Zeppelin wasn't a Jazz act.
A Covid project, 5 gigs in on as tough an act as any you could choose, it was a great performance. A well spent evening.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Used to be a UK band called Fred Zeppelin. They were bloody marvelous. Saw them at The Lion in Warrington (for nostalgic poms).
