The Studio Project
I decided 4 sheds weren't enough so I've been planning a new one, one that's dry and warm and reasonably soundproof, and I'm about to turn the first sod tomorrow, lay the concrete floor actually, with some surplus concrete that will miraculously appear. I have some recycled corrugated iron, a repurposed ranchslider, a stack of ply and some beautiful low grade rough sawn radiata.
it began as a better place to store my instruments but it's now going to be that plus a rehearsal room and studio, I have a surplus imac and my QU16 and a few 58s and 57s, so watch this space.
With my limited budget I'm having to make some compromises, but I'm pleased with what I'm planning. Time will tell. Here's a pic of the site and a construction drawing to date

Very cool. I've also got a shed project in mind, I've "past participle of get" as far as a sketch but no futher. Mind will also be made largely of recycled stuff which will be fun, better to see it become a shed than cost me money to dump

Go Dave! Just the thing. Don't forget to include a gun port for possum harvesting.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Ah shed plans, here's mine, spans two shipping containers. Too busy fixing broken things (cars) to get to it. Containers are there on piles though. Tractor parks forlornly out in the weather in it's shed floor space with no roof.

Re: The Studio Project
Some progress. It's basically almost a swamp there, but when I was rebuilding my basement earlier this year I piled the leftover concrete from the pours there, it's a big thick layer of conrete just basking in the mud, and it ain't going anywhere.
I've been working out how to incorporate some of the old beams I've hoarded from jobs; a 315x90 glulam with rotted ends, a 150 pfc steel beam with lots of randon holes in it, and some 150x150 rustic Totara. You can see them in the pic at the beginning of the thread.
I'm going to have my monitors and a pair of bookshelf Denons at the front, running off an old Yamaha reciever, and I'll put my pair of Cerwin Vega E-715s at the back, driven by a grunty Onkyo receiver. Seriously loud. Seriously good I'll also have aTurbosound ip1000 just in case I need reinforcement

Re: The Studio Project
Some progress. Got the power on, perfectly habitable, and it actually sounds great inside. I've got some heavy industrial carpet tiles to go down on the concrete floor, and some born again roman blinds for the windows. I'm thinking these things will kill most of the remaining bouce, which may not be too my liking, but we'll see. Playing acoustic in a dead room sucks
