Promo vid for my band
Hey guys.
My band has a gig at the end of the month so I thought I'd try my hand at a bit of video and audio editing the get ourselves out there a bit more on social media.
I downloaded the free version of Lightworks and dived in. Took me a couple of hours. I went back in to tidy a few things up such as text layout, fading and colour but the master file is corrupt and won't load up. So I'm left with what you see here. I think it's decent for a first try.
The track is just rough rhythm parts from a new song we have coming out soon as part of an upcoming album.
We're punk based with elements of hard rock and metal.
Criticisms welcome, cheers.

Good stuff, man. No criticism here, just a question. How did you process the drum tracks? Is that compression that makes them tight sounding like that? I struggle getting drums to sound full.griff wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 11:52 am Hey guys.

With the drums I'm not sure about compression. Our other guitarist mixed it all and I know he's eq'd them a bit. We set up mics on each drum into the Behringer XR18 mixer then into protools. Funny thing is our drummer wasnt overly happy with the sound. Not enough presence in the snare and stuff. We did 2 songs recorded that way then he did another 3 at his house in his garage and it's way brighter. Environment is everything in my opinion. Get it right at the source and use decent mics.
Probably part of the reason it sounds so full is theres a lack of high end so maybe that gives the illusion.

Awesome offer bro, but my band mate has a tight grip on that stuff unfortunately. Our sound is at his mercy haha

That is awesome…sounds are great! Keep going!
I quickly read the title as “Porno vid for my band” and thought jb had finally got others to play with him.
