Re: Making an LB30 into a b15(esque) bass amp
RE: above. Im using a filling primer and a matt textured finish so I have just roughed back the exposed areas of paint to 400 without a great deal of care.
Short of a massive take aart the board project I couldnt really get the valve sockets out, trannies fully off etc to allow a full detailing
I dont expect this bass amp to live a haerd life so 100% bomb proof finish is not required
Also it will live in a dark corner of a studio/lounge and I will tazer anyone who gets within 3 feet to scrutinize the finish

Optimistic prime
Realising I should have removed the transformer stickers.

Probably a good time to top and let the paint cure for a few days in the hot shed before any further fiddling

Well a hot day of paint curing meant I could get things back together this evening ...

Looks great - You've got to do something cool with the sliver tube holders

I am angry at Ashdown for not being more aesthetically minded with those preamp tube placements
Even so, looks infinitely cooler now

Re: Making an LB30 into a b15(esque) bass amp
Next part of the project will be to make a dark stained wood base for the amp to sit on.
Will need a bit of thought about how to put mounting blocks on this so the side screw holes can be used to affix the chassis to the block
