if you're not drilling 50mm thick mild steel, this is the best option. No belts to change and no fucking about.

I've just bought a Bosh 'Professional' drop saw. I doubt it would survive a building site for long but it won't have to. On that basis, It's excellent.Bg wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 5:00 pmseriously https://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/bosch-el ... lsrc=aw.ds

That press of yours looks like my next purchase.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Exactly, I used pro drill presses and radial arm drill presses in engineering for years.Slowy wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 6:26 pmI've just bought a Bosh 'Professional' drop saw. If you're drilling wood or steel up to 10 mm or so, it will be fantastic. No fannying around with belts that shred themselves and need tensioning is what sold me on it. After 2 months of moderate use, I have no qualms about recommending.
Its plug and play.

Re: recommend me a drill press
easy... I did the legs for my work bench with it - 19mm bit, to 75mm? can't remember the leg width now, but no trouble at all
It has a shitload of torque, I was surprised.
