Very nice BG, maybe add some lofi crackles to make it alittle bit dirtier. Love the chair squeak at the end, so authentic.....was it an old chair.

Re: You Got To Move
I like it.
Can't believe people knowing the Aerosmith version without having heard the Stones' one on Sticky Fingers though.
Must be a "how time passes" type thing.

Re: You Got To Move
pfft hate to sniff corks but if you're not using a vintage (40+ years) chair then your recording won't have that warmth and original vibe to it. I can tell there's a real lack of mid-range clarity due to this issue.BG wrote:cheers guys, yeah there are some crackles, scratches and 50hz hum in there, obviously need turning up a bit then my old office chair, about 10 years old but it squeaks like a herd of angry mice. I haven't actually listened to the track but i'm guessing it's an issue, looks like mono to me anyway

Nah, sorry. If it's not recorded out on the porch, it doesn't count.druz15 wrote:BG wrote:my old office chair, about 10 years old but it squeaks like a herd of angry mice.

Re: You Got To Move
Like it. Good voice there too, eh?
Any footstomping rhythm like that will always remind me of seeing Chris Whitley live in some little club in London about 10 years ago - and it was just him with a guitar and stomping on something... basically just a mic it sounded like... as I was leaning on a sub at stage right it was like a thump in the chest and all these great guitar lines. So good.
I always loved Big Sky Country and have some of his later stuff - but loved the rawness of it.

Larrivee 00 Acoustic. FAV Strat for electric. Ibanez SDGR5 for bass. Push for Ableton. When not doing that, 3D CAD for tunnels...
