Acoustic guitar/recording Gearfest (Auckland)
I reckon it could be fun to do an acoustic guitar recording experimentation workshop some time. Just round up whoever is interested and try a bunch of different acoustic guitars, techniques and mics. Any rehearsal space or hall would do as a venue (in fact a scout hall or something similar could be awesome). I'll happily supply the gear and will engineer if anyone in Auckland is interested. It would have to be strictly no amps allowed though.
Anyone keen?
EDIT: Poll added.

Sounds amazing. I’m in the wrong bit of NZ sadly, other wise I’d be there with my Lowden, my 1920’s Hilo and my 1960’s Gibson (once it turns up)

My brother Dan is a Jaffa and might be keen, I think he’s got a Larrive L03 nowadays.

Why don't you do one in Welly? Between you and Lawrence, it could be pretty awesome!bbrunskill wrote:Sounds amazing. I’m in the wrong bit of NZ sadly, other wise I’d be there with my Lowden, my 1920’s Hilo and my 1960’s Gibson (once it turns up)

I'd be in if it matched one of my days off. Might be able to rustle up a couple more players/guitars as well.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I'd be keen too. Could probably rustle up a venue in Greenhithe or Albany too.
I've got my new Qu-16 mixer, which can record raw multitrack straight to a usb stick, if that's any use.

When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

The audience must be made up of players.jvpp wrote:Great idea Ben,
