I'm glad its not just me, I find them too thick also, I've been finding I've been going thinner and thinner with my picks and I find it way easier to play because of it... strange!
Anything less than 0.8mm just loses the attack though. Fine if you're jangling away with Why Georgia (and I know you are), but anything else is just wrong.
That's almost exactly the happy medium for me. Around 0.8 mm ultex triangles is the most versatile for my use cases.

I'm just responding to people so far. Still can't list my own answers to the topic in question yet!
Yeah 0.8 Ultex is fine, and what I use most of the time.

Nylon picks of less than 1.0mm are for psychopaths.

I'm djenting with .46mm delrin picks! I only use just the tip though, most of the pick is held between my thumb and first finger :-)

What a coincidence! I've been going thinner and thinner with my hair.
You can play guitar with your hair?
Surely you're familiar with... hair metal.

Invitation declined :D
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I don't know if I'm weird for actually liking the break-up from a Klone into a clean amp.
