I want one of those Sadowsky 4-20s. What's the deal with those in terms of where they're made? Some say Germany, others NYC, and elsewhere.
There’s a MIJ on Sadowsky site, $1750 US

There’s a Warwick 5 (Made in Germany) at a good price Imo on TM

A student of mine had a passive Corvette and it’s far and away the Warwick I liked best tonally, a great take on a Jazz Bass and excellent construction/ fit and finish

I probably should have bought it off him when he moved back to South America

Not sure what the strings are. They're vintage though. :D

This thing can get seriously twangy, or whatever sound you want, just purely with attack, let alone what fiddling with the knobs can do.

Where abouts on the bass guitar do you guys pick/pluck?

I pick/pluck between the neck and bridge pickup (although slightly skewed towards neck) as it's the right mix of boom and definition for me.

Dirty little plucker - closer to the bridge than the neck, except for reggae - closer the the neck.

Generally between the neck pick up and the fingerboard fingerstyle or thumb

If I’m using a heavier plectrum then sometimes closer to the bridge. Palm mute with soft plectrum then very close to the bridge

Thumping, then it depends on the Bass and what EQ

A year later they are now $89.99
