Saw that on the gram last night, pretty cool, the channel switching is a nice addition!

The real question is whether it sounds better than the GTx line. I suspect actual IRs will help.

One of my best tones ever was Optimus Prime into a 212 Legacy cab, a DLS II with a Pigtronix class A boost, both running at 18V, was wicked!

I reckon it sounds a bit splattery in this demo, if that’s even a word…

Good word. Describes what I'm hearing.

I've been playing through an MI Effects Megalith and it's tight and not splattery at all.

I wonder if it's an amp / mic thing in his video?

I can hear it too. Is the splattery sound a typical cranked JCM45 feature?

I remember reading about a similar term - spluttery - being used to describe a 5E3 being hit hard and not being able to keep up.

That's what I heard in Brett's demo.

You can hear it clearly in Neil Young's "Rust Never Sleeps" - it's his 5E3 being slammed by an Octaver pushing the 5E3's cathodyne PI beyond blocking distortion. A grid stop R on the PI would fix it, but I like it!

Would the tone in Powderfinger be a good example of this? If not, which one would you recommend I listen to?
